If you’re a passionate young writer working on a major project like a novel or chapbook; you specialize in a writing genre that isn’t often taught in school; or you’re seeking out opportunities to build up your writing confidence and/or skills, the Standing Coaching program is for you. You’ll be matched with a coach who’s an expert in your genre(s) of choice, and you’ll receive personalized feedback that will help you to come into your own as a writer.
You’ll meet virtually with your Standing Coach once a week for 8 weeks in the coaching season, with the exact time dependent on your and your coach’s mutual availability.

Friday Night Writes runs on Fridays from 4–6pm, from September 20th–November 15th.
Seeking feedback on a piece of writing or three? Want a second pair of eyes on your college essay or your submissions to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards? Come to our drop-in coaching! It’s hosted both virtually and in-person through Friday Night Writes, a partner program between Cosmic Writers, the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, and the Philadelphia Writing Project.
This program runs during Fridays in the fall and will resume in September 2025. When FNW is in session, you can sign up here to reserve a slot for a virtual appointment, or drop in in-person in Philadelphia at Gutmann College House (211 S. 40th St.).
