We’re back for the FIFTH summer of Word Camp, our virtual creative writing camp for rising 3rd–8th graders! With workshops ranging from playwriting to detective fiction, there’s something for every young writer.

Word Camp is a personalized writing experience for every camper. Participants can sign up for as many or as few workshops as they’d like, and have the option to attend instructors’ office hours from 6:30–7:30pm each day of the workshop.

The Cosmic Writers Summer Institute for Young Writers is an intensive two-week writing workshop for high school students. Writers of all genres — nonfiction, fiction, poetry, drama, and beyond — are welcome to join us as we break down the writing process from initial inspiration to phrase-by-phrase revisions. We welcome new and experienced writers alike!

Create your own fantasy universe in this camp hosted by the Germantown Friends School (GFS)! GFS, Cosmic Writers, and Dungeons and Dragons nonprofit GameOn! have come together to create an immersive DnD adventure. Campers will use creative writing to flesh out their worlds, and then bring those worlds to life through daily role-playing games.

The camp is located at 31 W Coulter St, Philadelphia, PA 19144.

Join us to be matched with a one-on-one creative writing mentor in Cosmic Coaching. Each mentorship will run for approximately 8 weeks, and mentorships are virtual and open to writers of all ages. We encourage you to sign up if you have a long-term writing project, a genre you would like to explore, or any other facet of writing that you’d like to delve into with the support of a coach.
